Gumpy先生有一艘小船，他的房子就在河边One day Mr Gumpy went out in his boat.

"May we come with you?" said the children.

"Yes," said Mr Gumpy,

"if you don't squabble."

一天Gumpy先生划船出门

“我们可以和你一起去吗？”孩子们问

“可以”Gumpy先生说，“只要你们不争吵”

"Can I come along, Mr Gumpy?" said the rabbit.

"Yes, but don't hop about."

“我可以一起吗，Gumpy先生？”兔子说

“可以，但是不能到处跳”

"I'd like a ride," said the cat.

"Very well," said Mr Gumpy.

"But you're not to chase the rabbit."

“我也想出去玩”小猫说

“可以”Gumpy先生说，“但是你不能追小兔”"Will you take me with you?" said the dog.

"Yes," said Mr Gumpy.

"But don't tease the cat."

“你会带我一起吗？”小狗说

“好的”Gumpy先生说，“但是不要戏弄小猫”"May I come, please, Mr Gumpy?" said the pig.

"Very well, but don't muck about."

“我可以来吗，拜托了，Gumpy先生？”小猪说

“可以，但是不要把到处弄脏”"Have you a place for me?" said the sheep.

"Yes, but don't keep bleating."

“有我的位置吗？”小羊问

“有，但是不要一直叫”"Can we come too?" said the chickens.

"Yes, but don't flap," said Mr Gumpy.

“我们也可以来吗？”小鸡们问

“可以，但是不要拍翅膀”Gumpy先生说

"Can you make room for me?" said the calf.

"Yes, if you don't trample about."

“你可以给我一个位置吗？”绵牛问

“可以，只要你不到处踩踏”"May I join you, Mr Gumpy?" said the goat.

"Very well, but don't kick."

“我可以加入你们吗，Gumpy先生”山羊问

“可以，但是不要踢腿”For a little while they all went along happily but then...

The goat kicked  The calf trampled

The chickens flapped  The sheep bleated

The pig mucked about  The dog teased the cat

The cat chased the rabbit  The rabbit hopped

Then children squabbled  The boat tipped...

他们开心地走了不久但是接着...

山羊开始踢腿 小牛踩踏

" f9 Z8 p9 }1 r8 E% y  r* F

小鸡拍翅膀 绵羊咩咩叫

小猪到处弄脏 小狗戏弄小猫

小猫追赶兔子 兔子到处跳

* x) D4 \& C+ T2 k% R7 ~8 T

孩子们争吵 船翻了

and into the water they fell.

7 y; b, g! r5 `/ f  h

他们掉进了水里

) w) g4 m. \, l. ^

Then Mr Gumpy and the goat and the calf

and the chickens and the sheep and the pig

and the dog and the cat and the rabbit

( i, B; H1 C* r) Q4 U; _# K5 V

and the children all swam to the bank

; h1 A" i% m) x- C+ f$ E+ o1 B

and climbed out to dry in the hot sun.

"We'll walk home across the fields,"

/ q  _; I0 o, U7 {# O: @. x

said Mr Gumpy."It's time for tea."、

, `( E% l- I( O. Q! ^  p0 ^* m* p

然后Gumpy先生、山羊、小牛、小鸡、绵羊、小猪、

小狗、小猫、兔子和孩子们都游向岸边

他们爬上岸在炽热的阳光里晒干

“我们需要穿过田野走回家，”Gumpy先生说

“到了喝茶的时间了”"Goodbye," said Mr Gumpy.

"Come for a ride another day."
