Munro先后毕业于美国马里兰大学和哈佛大学,哈佛英语文学硕士,毕业后在一所高中教书,后又到一家出版公司当编辑。他在不到1小时的时间里,写作了这个故事,并送给自己的好友Robert Lawson。后者也是一位著名的儿童作家与插图画家。两人合作完成了这一经典童书。本故事出版后,于1938年被迪士斯改编成电影并获奖。5 g" o0 Q0 {6 v8 ]

All the other little bulls he lived with would run and jump and butt their heads together, but not Ferdinand.

Ferdinand knew that they wouldn't pick him and he didn't care.
