The Very Hungry Caterpillar

In the light of the moon a little egg lay on a leaf.

One Sunday morning the warm sun came up and --pop!--out of the egg came a tiny and very hungry caterpillar.

星期天早上，温暖的太阳升起来，“砰！”从卵里钻出来一条又小又饿的毛毛虫。

He started to look for some food.

他开始找吃的。

On Monday he ate through one apple. But he was still hungry.

星期一他啃穿了一个苹果，可他还是很饿。

On Tuesday he ate through two pears, but he was still hungry.

On Thursday he ate through four strawberries, but he was still hungry.

星期六他啃穿了一块巧克力蛋糕，一个冰激凌筒，一个泡菜，一块瑞士芝士，一块意大利香肠

one lollipop, one piece of cherry pie, one sausage, one cupcake and one slice of watermelon.

That night, he had a stomach ache!

一个棒棒糖，一块樱桃派，一个香肠和一块西瓜。

那天晚上他胃疼！

The next day was Sunday again. The caterpillar ate through one nice green leaf, and after that he felt much better.

第二天又是星期天了，毛毛虫啃穿了一片美味漂亮的绿叶，他感觉好多了。

Now he wasn’t hungry any more--

and he wasn’t a little caterpillar any more. He was a big, fat caterpillar.

现在他不再饿了，也不再是一条小小毛毛虫了，而是一条胖嘟嘟的大毛毛虫。

He built a small house, called a cocoon, around himself. He stayed inside for more than two weeks. Then he nibbled a hole in the cocoon, pushed his way out and …

他围绕着自己的身体建了一座叫做 “茧”的房子。他在里面呆了超过两个星期。然后他在茧里面啃了一个洞，钻了出来...
