Norma Jean liked to jump.
In the morning she jumped out of bed.
Norma Jean喜欢蹦蹦跳跳
每天早上她跳出被窝
She jumped into her clothes.
She jumped down the stairs.
跳进她的衣服里
跳下楼梯
Norma Jean jumped all the way to school.
She jumped past Amy, Sam, Nell, and Ted.
“Wow!” said Ted. “Look at her go!
That Norma Jean never stops jumping!”
“Hello hello hello!” she called to her friends.
Norma Jean一路跳着去上学
她跳着经过Amy，Sam，Nell和Ted
“哇！”Ted说，“看看她！
Norma Jean一直都是蹦蹦跳跳的！”
“你好！你好！你好！”她向朋友们打招呼
At lunch Sam gave Norma Jean a cupcake.
Norma Jean was so happy.
She jumped up and down.
Oh, no! Her milk spilled all over Sam.
“Norma Jean, please sit still,” said Miss Jones.
“This is not the time or place for jumping.”
吃中饭时Sam给了Norma Jean一块纸杯蛋糕
Norma Jean太高兴了，她高兴得上蹿下跳
哦不！她把牛奶撒到了Sam身上
“NormaJean！好好坐好！”Jones小姐说，
“现在不是跳来跳去的时候，
这个地方也不能跳来跳去。”
After school Norma Jean went to visit Ted.
“Hello hello hello!” she shouted to Ted.
“Will you play with me?”
“Okay,” said Ted. “Let’s get on my seesaw.”
But Norma Jean bounced too hard.
Ted almost flew off the seesaw.
放学后Norma Jean去找Ted玩儿
“你好！你好！你好呀！”她朝Ted喊道，
“你能和我一起玩吗？”
“可以啊，”Ted说，“去玩我的跷跷板吧。”
但是Norma Jean跳得太猛了，
Ted差一点就从跷跷板上掉了下来
“I don’t want to play anymore,” Ted said.
“I wonder why
Ted is mad at me,” said Norma Jean.
Then she jumped over to Amy’s house.
Amy was playing in her pool.
“Hello hello hello!” said Norma Jean.
“May I play too?”
Amy said,” Sure. Jump in!”
“我不想再玩了，”Ted说
“为什么Ted突然生我的气了？”Norma Jean说
接着她蹦向Amy家。Amy正在她的池子里玩
“你好！你好！你好呀！”Norma Jean说，
“我能和你一起玩吗？”
Amy说，“当然可以啦，跳进来吧！”
That was the wrong thing to say to Norma Jean!
SPLASH!
可这话实在不能对Norma Jean说
哗啦！
Amy got out of the pool.
“Why did you get out?” asked Norma Jean.
“We are having so much fun!”
Amy said, “You are having fun. I am going inside.
It is no fun playing with a jumping bean!”
Now Norma Jean knew
why her friends were mad at her.
Amy爬出池子
“你为什么出去了？”Norma Jean问，
“我们刚才玩的多开心呀！”
Amy说，“你当然很开心，我要回屋里去了。
和一个跳跳豆玩儿一点意思也没有！”
这下Norma Jean知道为什么朋友们都生她的气了

The next day Norma Jean walked to school very slowly.
There was a big puddle. All the other kids jumped over it.
But Norma Jean did not jump.
第二天Norma Jean走着去上学，她走的非常非常慢
路上有一个大水洼，其他孩子们都跳过去了
但是Norma Jean没有跳
Norma Jean said, “I don’t want to be a jumping bean. No more jumping for Norman Jean.”
So she walked through the puddle and got her feet all wet.
Norma Jean说，“我不想变成一个跳跳豆，Norma Jean再也不跳了。”
所以她踏进了水坑，脚全被打湿了
In the school yard kids were running around and playing catch and jumping rope.
“There’s Norma Jean,” said Amy,” Come jump with us.”
But Norma Jean said no.
在学校院子里，孩子们跑来跑去，玩着接球和跳绳
“Norma Jean来啦，”Amy说，“来和我们一起跳绳吧。”
但是Norma Jean拒绝了
Norma Jean said, “I don’t want to be a jumping bean. No more jumping for Norman Jean.”
And she just stood there and watched the other kids jump rope.
Norma Jean说，“我不想变成一个跳跳豆。Norma Jean再也不跳了。”
于是她就站在那儿，看着其他孩子玩着跳绳
At the end of the day Miss Jones told the class that Field Day was coming soon.
There were going to be lots of races.
Ted wants to be in the egg-and-spoon race. Amy and Sam said they would be in the wheelbarrow race. Nell asked if she could be in the rope-climbing contest.
这天快放学的时候，Jones小姐告诉全班，运动会就要到了
运动会上会有许多比赛
Ted想参加汤匙盛蛋比赛，Amy和Sam说他们要参加独轮车比赛，Nell问她能不能参加爬绳子比赛
“Now, who will be in the jumping contests?” asked Miss Jones.
Everybody shouted, “Norma Jean! Norma Jean! She is the best jumper in school!”
But Norma Jean said, “I don’t want to be a jumping bean. No more jumping for Norma Jean.”
Ted said, “I miss the old Norma Jean. She was fun, even if she did jump a lot.”
“那么，谁想参加跳跃比赛呀？”Jones小姐问
大家都喊道，“Norma Jean！ Norma Jean！她是整个学校跳的最好的！”
但是Norma Jean说，“我不想变成一个跳跳豆，Norma Jean不会再跳了。”
Ted说，“我好想念以前的Norma Jean啊，以前的她有趣多了，虽然那时候她总是跳来跳去”
On Field Day, Ted won the egg-and-spoon race.
Norma Jean was very happy. She yelled, “Hooray! Hooray!”
运动会那天，Ted赢了汤匙盛蛋比赛
Norma Jean很高兴，她喊道“好棒！好棒！”
Amy and Sam came in first in the wheelbarrow race.
Norma Jean yelled, “Hooray hooray hooray!” And she jumped up and down just a little bit.
Amy和Sam在独轮车比赛中得了第一名
Norma Jean喊道“真棒！真棒！真棒！”她轻轻地跳了几下
Nell won the rope-climbing contest.
Norman Jean was so excited, she jumped out on the field.
Nell赢了爬绳子比赛
Norma Jean太兴奋了，她跳到了运动场上
Norma Jean was just in time for the hurdles, the high jump, and the potato-sack race.
She won them all.
刚好来得及参加跨栏比赛，跳高比赛，马铃薯口袋比赛
而这些她全赢了
“Hooray hooray hooray!” shouted the kids in Miss Jones’s class.
Norma Jean was very happy. But she did not jump up and down. She stood very still.
Miss Jones pinned a blue ribbon on Norma Jean. It said, “Norma Jean, Champion Jumping Bean.”
What did Norma Jean do then?
“真棒！真棒！真棒！”Jones小姐班上的孩子们喊道
Norma Jean很高兴，但她没有跳上跳下，她站的直直的
Jones小姐把一个蓝缎带别在了Norma衣服上，缎带上写着“跳跃比赛冠军---Norma Jean。”
那么接下来，Norma Jean做了什么呢？
Norma Jean jumped for joy.
She jumped and she jumped and she jumped all the way home.
Norma Jean开心地跳了起来
她跳呀跳呀跳呀，一路跳回了家
After all, there is a time and a place for jumping.
毕竟，还是有这么一个，她可以跳来跳去的时候和地方
