《Too Noisy!》是一本图像式启蒙绘本，书中有众多单词都用了图像替代，将图像嵌藏于句子中，在语境中多次出现，有利于激发孩子的联想记忆，锻炼孩子识图说英语的能力。故事中， 一个老爷爷觉得他的房子太吵了，他怎么都睡不着。为此他向明智的老太太求助，老太太相继给了他一只羊、一头牛、一头驴子。就这样，老爷爷的房子不但没有安静下来，还变得更吵了！到了最后，老太太让老爷爷把它们都放到房子外面去。结果老爷爷终于可以好好地入睡了。从这个故事当中，孩子们能否体会到老奶奶的智慧呢？
Once there was an old man.
从前，有一位老人。
He lived in an old house.
他住在一所旧房子里。
"This house is too noisy,"
said the old man.
“这个房子太吵了。”老人说。
The door creaked.
门嘎吱嘎吱地响。
The floor squeaked.
地板吱吱作响。
And the window went bang-bang.
而且窗户发出砰砰的声音。
One day the old man took his cane.
一天，老人拿着他的拐杖。
Off he went to see a very wise lady.
他出发去拜访一位非常有智慧的夫人。
"My house is too noisy,"
said the old man.
“我的房子太吵了。”老人说，
"What can I do?"
我该怎么办呢？”
The lady said, "Take this goat.
The goat will live with you
in your house."
这位夫人说：“带着这只山羊。
这只山羊将在你的房子里和你住在一起。”
The old man took
the goat to his house.
老人把山羊带回了他的房子。
The goat went maa-maa.
山羊开始咩咩叫。
It broke a chair with its horns.
它用它的角碰坏了一张椅子。
Crash!
（发出）轰隆声！
So the next day the old man
went back to the lady.
所以第二天，老人回去找这个夫人。
"My house is still too noisy!" he said.
“我的房子仍旧太吵了。”他说。
So the wise lady gave him a cow
to take to his house.
因此聪明的夫人给了他一头奶牛让他带回他的房子。
The cow went moo-moo!
奶牛哞哞叫！
The goat went maa-maa!
山羊咩咩叫！
The old man put a pillow
over his head.
老人把一个枕头放在了他的头顶上。
The next day the old man
went back to the lady.
接下来这天，老人（又）回去找这个夫人。
"My house is still too noisy!" he said.
“我的房子仍然太吵了。”他说。
So the wise lady gave him
a donkey to take to his house.
因此聪明的夫人给了他一头驴子让他带回了他的房子。
The donkey went hee-haw, hee-haw!
驴子嘿嚯叫！（驴叫声）
The cow went moo-moo!
奶牛哞哞叫！（牛叫声）
The goat went maa-maa!
山羊咩咩叫！（羊叫声）
And the old man yelled,
"It is too noisy!"
然后老人吼叫道：“这太吵了！”
The next day the lady came to the house.
接下来这天，夫人来到了这座房子。
She said, "Open the door.
Let out the goat, the cow,
and the donkey."
她说：“打开门。
把山羊、奶牛和驴子放出去吧。”
And the old man did.
然后老人照着（夫人的话）做了。
And what do you know?
那么你知道吗？
The house was uiet now!
房子现在（变得）安静了。
The old man went to bed
and slept all day long.
老人到了床上并且睡了整整一天。
