207班的孩子闹得不可开交。

沾着唾沫的纸团粘到了天花板上。

纸飞机在空中飞来飞去。

他们是整个学校表现最差的班级。

But the class would not settle down.

And they always refused to do their lessons.

"Something will have to be done," said Miss Nelson.

"Today let's be just terrible!" they said.

$ \# G/ O: J' j+ n) C4 o“哇哦！”孩子们欢呼道，

# N) q4 T& }; C9 e% Z- R* U“这下我们可以想怎样就怎样了！

( s! D. j9 W" e; y9 ^' [他们开始揉更多的唾沫纸团儿，叠更多的纸飞机。

* ]( z  l* [1 ]3 \( S“今天我们可以无法无天了！”孩子们说道。

, t5 C" F, v0 D) [# Q4 X' K# s“别高兴太早了！”一个粗粗的嗓音阴森森地响起来。


A woman in an ugly black dress stood before them.

"I am your new teacher, Miss Viola Swamp."

7 k) a  u) o$ f. N! U% S) V$ hAnd she rapped the desk with her ruler.

"Where is Miss Nelson?" asked the kids.

! P" }5 e$ Y7 D. q"Never mind that!" snapped Miss Swamp.

"Open those arithmetic books!"
& x5 l5 h9 Y+ P3 f9 d# Q
; b% e9 |  B( {5 [' IMiss Nelson's kids did as they were told.

一个女人站在了他们面前，

& \: ]- w) G$ p# M$ m穿着一件丑陋的黑色连衣裙。

Right away she put them to work.
