One day Mrs.Cat said.
"buzby,you are a big kitten now.
It is time for you to get a job."
一天，猫夫人说，
“布茨比，你已经长大了。
该是出去找份工作的时候了。”
Buzbytwitched whiskers.
"I know how to lie in the sun,"he said.
"I know how to nap in the grass.
I know how to catch mice .
But I do not know how to get a job."
巴兹比扯了扯自己的胡须，
说道：“我知道怎么躺在太阳下晒太阳，
我知道怎么在草地上打盹，
我知道怎么抓老鼠。
但是不知道怎么找工作啊！”
"Buzby,"said Mrs.Cat.
"you can get a job.
You are clean .You are polite.
and you are a good mouser.
Now off you go."
“布茨比，”猫夫人说，
“你一定可以找到一份工作。
你既爱干净，
又彬彬有礼。
你还是一名出色的捕鼠能手。
快去吧，孩子！”
Buzby walked down the road.
he came to Maple Leaf Farm.
there was a sign on the gate,
It said:cat wanted must be good mouser.
布茨比沿着路向前走。
他来到枫树农场。
农场贴出广告：
“招聘猫咪一只，要求是捕鼠能手。”
"That’s me!"said Buzby.
"I have come for the job."
he said to Farmer Brown.
"Are you a good mouser?"
asked Farmer Brown.
"I am a very good mouser,"said Buzby.
“捕鼠高手？！我就是啊！”巴兹比说。
“我是来应聘的。”他对农场主布朗说道。
“你是捕鼠高手吗？”布朗问。
“我是！”巴兹比回答。
Just then a big dog came out
of the barn and growled.
正当这时，一只大狗从谷仓跑出来，
不断咆哮着。
"But I am sure you will find another
good mouser,"said Buzby.
And he walked away quikly.
“我想你一定能找到比我更好的！”
巴兹比说着，飞快地离开了。
He came to Butters Dairy.
There was a sign on the fence.
It said:CAT WANTED MUST BE CLEAN.
"That’s me!"said Buzby.
"I am very clean!"
巴兹比随后来到黄油杯牛奶场，
那里有一个广告：
“招聘猫咪一只，要求必须干净。”
“我符合要求啊！”巴兹比说：“我很干净！”
"Step aside,sonny,"
said a big gray cat.
"There is room for only one cat here.
and it is going to be me!"
“让一边去，小孩儿，”
一只大灰猫说道：
“这里只需要一只猫，那必须得是我！”
"I did not want that job anway,"said Buzby.
and he walked on.
Buzby came to a town.
He saw a big hotel.
There was a sign outside the hotel.
It said:BUSBOY WANTED MUST BE POLITE.
“随你好了，反正我也不想去，”
巴兹比说着便走到了一个镇上。
他看见了一家大饭店，
饭店门口有张广告：
“招聘餐馆工一名，要求文明有礼貌。”
"That’s me!"said Buzby.
"They did not spell my name roght,
but they know I am polite!"
“我符合要求啊！”巴兹比说：
“虽然他们没有写对我的名字，
不过他们知道我很有礼貌。”
（BUSBOY餐馆工和巴兹比的名字Buzyby很像。）
"I am your man," Buzby said to the hotel manager.
"You look more like a cat to me ,"
said the manager.
"we need a busboy,"
"A Buzby can be a busboy,"said Buzby.
“我就是你们要找的人！”
巴兹比对饭店经理说。
“但是你看起来更像一只猫。”
经理说：“我们需要餐馆工。”
“巴兹比也可以当餐馆工啊！”巴兹比说。
"A busboy is important,"
said the manager.
"He works in the dining room.
He has to fill all the glass with ice water.
“餐馆工很重要，”
经理说：“他要在餐厅里工作，
要及时给顾客续杯。
He has to chear all the dishes
and empety the ashtrays."
"I can do all of that."said Busby.
要清理干净所有的杯碟，
要扫干净烟灰缸。”
“我可以做到的！”巴兹比说。
"Are you polite?"
asked the manager.
"Sir,"said Buzby.
"I am very polite."
"Well,"said the manager.
"I guss we can give you a try."
“那你有礼貌吗？”经理说。
“先生，”巴兹比说：“我很有礼貌。”
经理说：“好吧，
那给你一次机会，你试试吧！”
Buzby walked through the hotel.
there was bellboys in the uniforms.
巴兹比穿过饭店，
他看见很多穿着蓝色制服的男侍者。
there wer maids in white aprons.
"I am going to like working here,
said Buzby.
He went into the kitchen.
还有穿着白色围裙的女佣。
“在这儿工作一定很好玩。”巴兹比说。
他走进了厨房。
"I am your new busboy,"
Buzby said to the cook.
“我是新来的餐馆工。”巴兹比对厨师说。
"I have never had a cat for a busboy,"
said the cook.
"Are your paws clen?"
"very clean,sir"said Buzby.
“我从没用过猫餐馆工，”厨师说，
“你的爪子干净吗？”
“很干净，先生。”巴兹比说。
"then you are ready to start,"said the cook.
he gave Buzby a white jacket with brass buttons.
“那开始工作吧！”厨师说。
他给了巴兹比一件钉着铜扣的白色夹克。
"Remember,"he said.
"we have some very important gusts.
King Oswald is here.he is sad.
because he lost his throne.
Be nice to him.
“记住！我们要接待一些很重要的客人，
奥斯沃国王今天驾临了。
他今天心情不好，
因为他丢失自己王位，要对他好一点。”
"We have Cecilia Hytone.
the opera singer."said the cook.
"No one has heard her sing in years,
but she is still famouse.
Be polite to her."
"your first job is to pour water into all the glasses.
After that you can clear the dishes,"
"Yes,sir,"said Buzby.
and he bowed politely.
“塞西莉亚.海顿也来了，她是个歌剧家。”
厨师说：“她很多年没有唱过了，
不过还是很出名，要对她礼貌一点。”
“我一直都很礼貌的！”巴兹比说。
“好吧，”厨师说：“你第一个工作是把所有
的杯子倒上水，然后洗干净所有的碗碟。”
“好的，先生。”巴兹比礼貌地鞠躬。
Buzby went into the dining room.
There were flowers all around.
There were pink tablecloths on every table.
Three parrots were sitting at the first table.
巴兹比走进餐厅，餐厅里到处是鲜花，
桌上铺满了粉色桌布，
三只鹦鹉正坐在第一张桌子上。
Buzby poured water into the first glass.
He was careful and did not spill a drop.
巴兹比把水倒进了第一个水杯，
他非常小心，一滴水都没有洒出来。
Buzby poured water into the second glass.He was
very careful and did not spill a drop.
巴兹比往第二个水杯里倒水，
他非常小心，一滴水都没有洒出来。
Buzby started to pour water
into the third glass.
"I should bow very low to be extra polite,
because she is a lady,"said Buzby to himself .
Buzby bowed very low.SPLASH!
The ice water spilled all over the
lady's dress."Laaaah!" she cried.
"Do re mi fa so laaah!" she trilled.
巴兹比开始往第三个杯子里倒水，
“我鞠躬时应该弯下去点，
因为她是一位女士。”巴兹比对自己说。
然后巴兹比深深鞠了一躬。
“哗啦！”
冰水洒满了女士的裙子！
“啊啊啊啊啊！”
她大喊道：“哆来咪发索！”她颤抖着。
"Madam,I am very sorry," said Buzby.
"SO ...RRY!" sang the lasy.
"SO ...SO...SO...SO...SORRY!
i can sing again!
Thank you, Thank you!"
She hugged Buzby.
Everyone clapped.
“女士，非常抱歉！”巴兹比说。
“抱.......歉”，女士唱到：
“抱....抱....抱......抱歉！
我又可以唱歌啦！谢谢你谢谢！”
她拥抱了巴兹比。所有的人都鼓掌欢呼。
"Well,"said Buzby.
"I Think it is time to the dishes."
“好吧！”巴兹比说：“我想我应该去清理盘子去了。”
Buzby looked around.
A walrus was sitting by himself.
He looked lonely.
巴兹比看看四周，
一只海象独自坐着，看起来很孤单。
"I will clear his dishes,"said Buzby to himself.
He jumped on the table.
"GADZOOKS!",cried the walrus.
"There is a cat on my table！”
“我要把他的盘子清理一下！”
巴兹比说着跳上了桌子。
“该死！”海象大喊：“我的桌上有一只猫！”
“At your service,sir!",said Buzby.
He bowed politely and started to
lick the plates clean.
“随时为您效劳！先生！”巴兹比说。
他有礼貌地鞠躬，然后开始舔干净盘子。
"Don't they feed you in the kitchen?"
asked the walrus.
"I am not hungry,"said Buzby.
"I am your busboy.
i have to clear your dishes."
The walrus started to laugh.
"I Have had lots of servants," said the walrus.
"But i have never had a busboy like you."
“难道厨房里不给你饭吃吗？”海象说。
“我不饿，”巴兹比说：“我是你的服务生，
我得清理你的盘子。”
海象开始大笑起来：“我曾经有很多的仆人，
但是你这样的我还第一次见。”
Then he laughed some more.
"Ho! Ho!Ho!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!"
He laughed so hard that all the
other guests started to laugh too.
他继续笑着“吼吼吼吼哈哈哈哈！”
他笑得太开心了，其他顾客也跟着笑起来。
"I am sorry,sir"said Buzby.
"Don't be sorry ,"said the walrus.
"I am king oswald. i have not laughed
this much since i lost my throne."
“对不起，先生。”巴兹比说。
“别担心！”海象说：“我是奥斯沃国王，
自从我丢了王位，还没这么开心过呢！”
Buzby started to get off the table,but he slipped.
His hind paws landed in the butter.
巴兹比想走下桌子，却不小心滑了一跤，
他的后爪不小心按在了黄油里。
He tried to stand up,but his paws were too slippery.
He spun around and around.
"A dancing cat!" cried king oswald.
"What fun!!"
他试着想站起来，但是他的爪子实在太滑了，
他转啊转转啊转！
“跳舞的猫！”
奥斯沃国王叫起来：“太搞笑了！”
Buzby's tail knocked over the vase of flowers.
"KERCHOO!"
巴兹比的尾巴碰到了花瓶：“啊~切！”
Buzby' Skidded and somersaulted off the table.
CRSDH!
"This is better than circus!"cried king oswald.
Everyone cheered,"YAY!YAY!"
巴兹比滑翻在地：“彭！”
“这比马戏团还好玩！”奥斯沃国王说。
所有人都欢呼着：“耶耶！”
Slam!
The kitchen doors opened,
and the cook came running out.
BANG!
The dining room doors opened,
and the manager came running in.
嘭！厨房门打开了，厨师跑了出来。
嘭！餐厅们打开了，经理跑了进来。
"What is going om?"shouted the mannager.
"I AM VERY SORRY,SIR,"SAID Buzby.
"Well," siad the mannager.
"I guess a Buzby is not a busboy. You are fired!"
“发生什么事了？”经理喊道。
“对不起，先生！”巴兹比说。
“好嘛！”经理说：“看来你不适合
当餐馆工，你被开除了！”
Buzby stood up.
He took off his jacket.
He walked slowly to the door.
巴兹比站了起来，
他脱下自己的夹克衫，慢慢走向大门。
"OH ,NO!"cried cecilia hytone.
"Buzby must stay!"
“Oh，不！”塞西莉亚.海顿叫道：
“巴兹比不能走！”
"Yes",said the king oswald.
"Buzby must stay!"
If Buzby leaves,then i will leave!"
“是的！”奥斯沃国王说：
“巴兹比不能走！
如果他走了，我也走！”
”Wait, Buzby,"said the manager.
"You may not be a good busboy,
but you make our guests happy.
i think there is a job for you in this hotel after all."
"Sir,"said buzby,
"what job is that?"
“等一下，巴兹比，”经理说道：
“你虽然不是一个好的餐馆工，
但是你能让我们的客人开心，
我想我们这里有一份工作更适合你。”
“先生，”巴兹比说：“那是什么工作？”
"you can be our hotel cat!“ said the manager.
"follow me .i will show you what to do ."
“你可做我们的酒店猫！”
经理说：“跟着我，我告诉你你可以做什么。”
SO buzby got his own uniform,
and from then on he stood at the door of
the hotel and looked after all the guests.
然后巴兹比得到了自己的制服，
从那以后，他站在酒店门口，
负责照顾所有的客人。
when his mother came to visit,
she said,"see,buzby,i told you you could get a job.
当猫太太来的时候，她说：
“你瞧！巴兹比，我告诉过你，
你一定可以找到工作的！”
"You are the best hotel cat in the whole world!"
And he was!
“你是世界上最好的酒店猫！”
猫太太没说错，
巴兹比确实是世界上最好的酒店猫！
