go by 和 go through 字面意思都是“经过”的意思。但是这两个短语所要表达的意思还是有所不同，go by 是“从旁边经过”，而 go through 是“从中间穿过”的意思。所以如果我们说：he goes by the park 和 he goes through the park，其实前者是指“从公园旁边走过”；后者是指“穿越公园”的意思。
除此之外，go by 也有“根据……做出判断，依照”的意思。例如，don't go by that old map, it might be out of date。（别以那张地图作准，也许已经过时了）going by her clothes, she must be very poor（从她的衣着来判断，她一定很穷）。
