This story has a farmer, his wife, their son Jack, a dog, a cat, a bird and an enormous turnip.
这个故事里有一位农民伯伯，有他的妻子，他们的儿子Jack，一只小狗，一只小猫，一只小鸟，还有一个巨大的大萝卜。
One morning, the farmer went to his field. He wanted a turnip.
一天早上，农民伯伯准备到自己家的菜地去拔一个萝卜。
He saw one turnip with very big green leaves.
他看见菜地里有一个大萝卜，上面还长着大片大片的叶子。
“It’s huge! I’ll pick this one,”thought the farmer.
“这个萝卜真大啊！那我就拔这个萝卜吧。”农夫想。
The farmer tugged and tugged at the turnip. The turnip didn’t move.
他用力的拽啊拽啊，使出了全身的力气，可是这个大萝卜一动不动。
The farmer’s wife saw the farmer puffing and panting.
农民伯伯的妻子看到了他在菜园里上气不接下气的拔萝卜。
“I’ll help,”she called.
“别着急，我来帮你！”她喊道。
She hugged the farmer.
妻子双手抱住农民伯伯的腰。
He grabbed the turnip leaves.
农民伯伯则用两只手牢牢地抓住萝卜的叶子。
“One, two, three...pull!”
“一！二！三！拔！”
They both tugged and tugged.
两个人随着农民伯伯的口号用力的拔啊拔啊。
But the turnip didn’t move.
可是，这个大萝卜还是一动不动。
Jack saw his parents puffing and panting.
Jack看到自己的爸爸妈妈全都累得气喘吁吁得了。
“I’ll help,”he called.
“爸爸妈妈，我来帮你们！”
Jack held his mother’s skirt.
Jack双手抓住妈妈的裙子。
She hugged the farmer.
妈妈双手抱住农民伯伯的腰，
He grabbed the turnip leaves.
农民伯伯则用两只手牢牢地抓住萝卜的叶子。
“One, two, three...pull!”
“一！二！三！拔！”
And they tugged and tugged until they were red in the face. But the turnip didn’t move.
三个人随着农民伯伯的口号用力的拔啊拔啊，拔了好久，他们累得脸都红了，可是，这个大萝卜还是一动不动。
“Woof”barked the farmer’s dog. He raced into the field.
它一边朝着菜地跑过去，一边“Woof!Woof!”的叫着。
“Let’s try again,”said the farmer.
“我们大家再试一次！我就不相信拔不出这个萝卜来！”
The dog pulled Jack’s shirt.
小狗拉住Jack的衬衫
Jack held his mother’s skirt.
Jack双手抓住妈妈的裙子。
