asked Big Bear, putting down his Bear Book

& H, r( X( e. k- u6 ~& d; Uand padding over to the bed.
- X6 E9 |9 E$ ~4 X/ q8 B6 w"I'm scared, "said Little bear.
( V- I+ e# b6 |- \  x2 {"Why are you scared, Little Bear?" asked Big Bear.
"I dont like the dark, "said Little bear.
. U) w' h; U6 M* x“ What dark?” said Big bear.
: ?1 n$ I$ Z6 r! i“ The dark all around us ，"said Little bear.
“你睡不着吗，小小熊？”
7 |% a8 h7 ?# [* C: a- E大大熊放下它那本看得正有趣的书，走到了小小熊的床边。
“我害怕。”小小熊说。
“你害怕什么，小小熊？”大大熊问。
“我不喜欢这么黑。”小小熊说。
5 v  H/ t7 \; G6 x9 U“什么黑？”大大熊问。
7 M4 V8 W7 C" A: J8 T4 d“周围黑黑的地方。”小小熊说。

Big bear looked, and he saw that the dark part
of the cave was very dark,
1 K) l  Y3 \. C8 s& D$ ^, O% L5 Fso he went to the Lantern Cupboard
8 T+ p0 `& U) U# D2 F& Xand took out the tiniest lantern that was there.
9 N" W! @# J- G$ FBig Bear lit the tiniest lantern,
and put it near to Little bears bed.
6 U+ b9 K" W) O5 O6 u" b# ^"There's a tiny light to stop you being scared,
Little Bear, "said Big Bear.
"Thank you, Big Bear, "said Little Bear,
3 G8 ]4 Z& N# a6 f# ~2 _9 C9 w+ h  ?cuddling up in the glow.
- I( h3 y! ~( X: \" i"Now go to sleep, Little Bear, "said Big Bear,
and he padded back to the bear Chair and settled
down to read the Bear Book, by the light of the fire.
9 D7 i" @+ {$ |4 r大大熊看了看周围,觉得小小熊说得有道理。
于是它拿来了一个小小的灯，很小，放在小小熊的床边。
“小小熊，这个小灯会让你不害怕黑暗。”大大熊说。
2 o; U7 L, J8 h- T* C! ]4 t7 _& S' X“谢谢你，大大熊。”小小熊给了大大熊一个拥抱。
- o4 e) X6 E$ |5 H8 a( T0 D0 N* ?大大熊坐在火堆边继续看书。

/ X9 P% F6 l% i2 m7 `2 v2 WLittle Bear tried to go to sleep, but he couldn't.
" Z0 H+ T# x5 v; Y( R( ~  D"Can't you sleep, Little Bear? "yawned Big Bear,
putting down his Bear Book
& A* S) G9 i# U- u9 q9 h5 a(with just four pages to go to the interesting bit)
$ ]! G! |2 [2 P; C7 Y6 gand padding over to the bed.
"Im scared, "said Little Bear.
"Why are you scared, Little Bear?"asked Big Bear.
) G6 j, }  K) r"I dont like the dark, " said Little Bear.
; y& \* w3 b$ r4 d) C- q$ ?3 e2 y"What dark?" said Big Bear
"The dark all around us, "said Little bear
8 {4 a- a! X  h# q; P0 z* l"But I brought you a lantern! "said Big Bear
' p  u) @& S5 f' F# u"Only a tiny-weeny one, " said Little Bear. "
And there's lots of dark!”
# H. W" a8 R$ }, S$ |1 yBig Bear looked, and he saw that Little Bear was quite
right, there was still lots of dark.
So Big Bear went to the Lantern Cupboard
2 \' ~  F$ }! I) `, v2 e0 @and took out a bigger lantern.
Big bear lit the lantern, and put it beside the other one.

9 [/ p  y( b& x7 m, z, t" D' K5 U小小熊躺了一会儿，可它还是睡不着。
! ^' w* I' s5 u3 x% K* C: M. X, A2 t“你睡不着吗，小小熊？”大大熊说。
) D9 c' L4 x+ ]% h" R, X6 c它放下书，来到了小小熊的床边。
* y5 j8 ^: b! W/ J) _* ?. I“我害怕。”小小熊说。
“你害怕什么，小小熊？”大大熊问。
“我不喜欢这么黑。”小小熊说。
“可我已经给你拿来了小灯。”
4 n8 t+ V, b7 |7 k1 N. m* O, W: h“它只照亮了一点点的光，那里还有那么多黑的地方呢。”
小小熊说。
大大熊看了看周围，觉得小小熊说得有道理。
于是它拿来了大一点的灯，放在小小熊的床边。

2 o6 B3 {" K( `, Z* v3 c2 a9 c9 T"Now go to sleep, Little Bear,"
. g) J  Z; b/ Z6 Ksaid Big Bear and he padded back to the Bear Chair
. l, n* @, o- g' z! Mand settled down to read the Bear Book,
7 k2 B) w0 U1 \* g. p5 ]+ Oby the light of the fire.
Little Bear tried and tried to go to sleep,but he couldn't.
"Can't you sleep,Little Bear?" grunted Big Bear,
putting down his bear Book (with just three pages to go)
and padding over to the bed.
"I'm scared," said Little bear.
"Why are you scared, Little Bear?"asked Big Bear.
"I don't like the dark," said Little Bear.
"What dark?"asked Big Bear.
"The dark all around us, "said Little Bear.
  Y4 @  j3 x6 h7 @$ e9 a2 F9 u- \"But I brought you two lanterns! "said Big Bear.
"A tiny one and a bigger one!”
"Not much bigger, "said Little Bear.
$ v# j; T6 `# U5 w" Y3 Y5 d"And there's still lots of dark.
9 ^( E5 x0 F4 I9 f4 A2 ^3 }“现在去睡觉吧，小小熊。”
大大熊走回火堆旁，坐下去继续看书。
小小熊想着睡着，可是睡不着。
) I; t; W7 a4 B: r“你睡不着吗，小小熊？”大大熊放下书。
; o5 d$ Z1 h6 _8 f6 v“我害怕，”小小熊说。
8 e, ?( B  @: q: d“你害怕什么，小小熊？”大大熊问。
0 ]0 |! ?% Q* g( F/ E“我不喜欢这么黑。”小小熊说。
“什么黑？”大大熊问。
  ^3 o2 ]. C- K0 y9 ]: Z- Q3 R“周围黑黑的地方。”小小熊说。
“但是我已经给你拿了两盏灯了，一个大的，一个小的。”
. C. f  e+ j" _& u2 a% d“不够，那里还是黑黑的。”小小熊说。

9 V2 v' L( ]! mBig bear thought about it,
/ ?, n& M/ W( P# b. K7 @and then he went to the Lantern Cupboard
and took out the Biggest Lantern of Them All,
with two handles and a bit of chain.
- ~% w; C# I+ G$ R5 `* o" RHe hooked the lantern up above Little Bears bed.
3 i  m% _) I/ E; ^, g- x"I've brought you the Biggest Lantern of Them all! "
# U1 s$ k; `" E% h6 R) t  y0 zhe told Little bear.
0 B9 g+ I% F0 X1 h  o% h- R3 n$ F$ v8 |"That's to stop you being scared!"
“Thank you, Big Bear,” said Little Bear,
curling up in the glow and watching
the shadows dance.
  v+ b- b# V! `# C“Now go to sleep, Little Bear, ”said Big Bear
and he padded back to the Bear Chair and
6 |) p  S/ Z5 u0 X  A5 @' W7 gsettled down to read the Bear Book，
by the light of the fire.
* z& }: n2 e& u. ^& q( v- l
大大熊想了想，然后他又拿了一个最大的灯。
“我给你拿了最大的灯了，这下不用害怕了。”
“谢谢你，大大熊。”小小熊开心地看着影子跳舞。
“现在去睡觉吧。”大大熊回到位子上继续看书。

" B- l4 g, i7 \3 q7 mLittle bear tried and tried and tried to go to sleep,
8 O; p8 k9 H& f+ K, obut he could't.
% w1 X6 i) @! A2 Z, r" v  F"Can't you sleep, Little Bear?" groaned Big Bear,
+ q3 i6 B% S1 `8 Gputting down his Bear Book
(with just two pages to go)
and padding over to the bed.

"I'm scared," said Little bear.
"Why are you scared, Little Bear?" asked Big bear.
"I don' t like the dark," said Little bear.
"What dark? "asked Big Bear.

"But I brought you the Biggest Lantern of Them All,
and there isn't any dark left, " said Big Bear.
' C; J+ a, G% G. K4 P"Yes, there is! "said Little Bear. There is, out there!"
) m1 O' F& D- l- ?And he pointed out of the Bear Cave, at the night.

“你害怕什么，小小熊？”大大熊问。
“我不喜欢这么黑。”小小熊说。
“什么黑？”大大熊问。
“周围黑黑的地方。”小小熊说。
“我拿了最大的灯，现在这里都没有黑黑的地方了。”大大熊说。

Big Bear saw that Little Bear was right.
Big Bear was very puzzled.

% A" O1 e, X3 s# ?) t, Nlight up the dark outside.
Big Bear thought about it for a long time,
and then he said,“ Come on, Little bear.”
"Where are we going? "asked Little Bear.
/ Z8 n1 k( P  i“Out!" said Big Bear.
7 D3 M) r& e$ ~, X"Out into the darkness?" said Little bear.
“Yes!” said Big bear.
“ But I'm scared of the dark!” said Little bear.
! J/ x& I) j9 u' T5 @( y" g"No need to be! "said Big Bear, and he took
% ?6 p, Y- L4 {7 aLittle Bear by the paw and led him out from the
cave into the night and it was...

5 x3 M. ~1 A3 @* h( Q1 b. B大大熊觉得小小熊是对的，
大大熊疑惑了，所有的灯都不能点亮外面。
3 Z$ V) l% v* X$ G- E大大熊想了很久，他说，”过来，小小熊。“
, a5 b2 V, A, }2 V7 t2 v' w”我们要去哪里？“小小熊说。
5 C6 I& g0 S' l7 `, |. p, X”外面。“
”黑黑的外面？“
3 a8 n6 Y7 M# Z1 f”是的。“
4 k4 a6 _4 _  r# J”但是我害怕。“
”不需要害怕。“大大熊抱着小小熊走出去。

DARK!

cuddling up to Big Bear.
Big Bear lifted Little Bear, and
cuddled him, and said, "Look at the dark,
Little Bear. "And Little Bear looked.

“啊，我害怕，”小小熊说。
; X; F4 h* }8 v8 X/ A- [' Z# F大大熊抱起小小熊，对他说，“你看。”

( O( f/ G7 j1 k" h"Ive brought you the moon, Little Bear, said Big Bear.
"The bright yellow moon, and all the twinkly stars.
! N) A4 P. F1 ]: a# }“看，月亮多大多明亮啊，
还有很多眨着眼睛的星星，这里再也不黑暗了。”

But Little Bear didn't say anything, for he had gone
to sleep, warm and safe in Big Bear's arms.
( |8 d9 j. X) \* b' v- PBig Bear carried Little Bear back into the bear Cave,
fast asleep, and he settled down with Little Bear
1 u6 Q: X5 j) s7 [! Xon one arm and the Bear Book on the other, cosy
8 S/ r/ |2 b4 a" D& Sin the Bear Chair by the fire.
; ~9 \' m2 _* r8 f: n! Q- C小小熊没有吭声，他在大大熊温暖而安全的怀抱中睡着了。
8 i8 G; a/ i; Y! N2 c% t大大熊抱着小小熊回到洞穴，
回到椅子上继续看书，一边还抱着小小熊。
