Big Bear took Little Bear home to the Bear Cave.

and padding over to the bed.

“ What dark?” said Big bear.

“你睡不着吗,小小熊?”

“我害怕。”小小熊说。

“周围黑黑的地方。”小小熊说。

Big bear looked, and he saw that the dark part

so he went to the Lantern Cupboard
. D; T: f+ A" M; o/ _% wand took out the tiniest lantern that was there.2 N  m2 e% w" f/ _
Big Bear lit the tiniest lantern,   E* U% W0 }5 S9 o
and put it near to Little bears bed.2 U2 D( i2 M* W* |, s7 R1 u  }
"There's a tiny light to stop you being scared,
! H' F! O3 l$ k: g4 T& e8 [Little Bear, "said Big Bear." X- F/ Q5 F- ^* f
"Thank you, Big Bear, "said Little Bear,
$ l* N& |: C0 J* l, s9 G2 O: Ncuddling up in the glow.
* K: _% l  z( N) R3 v"Now go to sleep, Little Bear, "said Big Bear,
* L- p+ M: x! Iand he padded back to the bear Chair and settled; L4 T) H/ r- P5 q
down to read the Bear Book, by the light of the fire.
0 w6 Q8 U& x- {  v9 {" Q' u大大熊看了看周围,觉得小小熊说得有道理。

(with just four pages to go to the interesting bit)

"Im scared, "said Little Bear.
: c2 F, O/ A- @+ `  s: x"Why are you scared, Little Bear?"asked Big Bear./ E/ E4 k8 r3 V6 h- h
"I dont like the dark, " said Little Bear.

"The dark all around us, "said Little bear' H6 r$ x) e9 H& O" I8 U
"But I brought you a lantern! "said Big Bear
6 _- y( Z5 Z! F. V"Only a tiny-weeny one, " said Little Bear. "
0 T5 R, G) S9 N% WAnd there's lots of dark!”5 @5 N8 P, M9 I! C
Big Bear looked, and he saw that Little Bear was quite
" R% Y: o( S' l1 f5 o. pright, there was still lots of dark. $ c3 T+ k4 ]2 k0 t6 G
So Big Bear went to the Lantern Cupboard
, V6 x5 L4 C: o, [and took out a bigger lantern.
, d, w; I* G2 |+ i+ _- B' wBig bear lit the lantern, and put it beside the other one.

5 p2 C7 R9 ?8 M$ D小小熊躺了一会儿,可它还是睡不着。
2 i8 q9 f# n6 o“你睡不着吗,小小熊?”大大熊说。
8 r- Z2 B6 Q0 Z% v它放下书,来到了小小熊的床边。( c3 {; y! G* g6 s

said Big Bear and he padded back to the Bear Chair

putting down his bear Book (with just three pages to go)

"Not much bigger, "said Little Bear.

小小熊想着睡着,可是睡不着。

Big bear thought about it, 5 i8 X7 d7 F$ d7 X2 \1 {& I
and then he went to the Lantern Cupboard
5 p+ d* }- o9 |* j* cand took out the Biggest Lantern of Them All,
% |+ |: F! L. M# o5 G+ _+ r6 }) `with two handles and a bit of chain. ; p) o1 l# k% a1 ?! X5 v4 A4 ?
He hooked the lantern up above Little Bears bed.8 |4 D" X, Y& d
"I've brought you the Biggest Lantern of Them all! "
6 k9 `9 y+ e: x% d# Xhe told Little bear. ! x- X4 t) j$ s) w, o+ m
"That's to stop you being scared!". K5 |' w) B3 N) u6 t2 U
“Thank you, Big Bear,” said Little Bear," R' N; A3 V0 K+ R: q3 T  }# _  P3 Y
curling up in the glow and watching
. c" L* r7 r! A! N0 x8 x4 p  Ythe shadows dance.
" u, b0 m: @; o8 h" F0 Z“Now go to sleep, Little Bear, ”said Big Bear
) T1 I" i1 k- A1 I( C0 Tand he padded back to the Bear Chair and: f. o" X7 t& E8 w
settled down to read the Bear Book,

大大熊想了想,然后他又拿了一个最大的灯。
* h7 @: d0 U1 Z1 D* I( n“我给你拿了最大的灯了,这下不用害怕了。”

Big Bear saw that Little Bear was right.

Big Bear thought about it for a long time,
+ P1 g! l. o# m* F) Z. z" {9 Xand then he said,“ Come on, Little bear.”

"Out into the darkness?" said Little bear.7 l2 M* e  g& r: x) N( N
“Yes!” said Big bear.

Little Bear by the paw and led him out from the

大大熊觉得小小熊是对的,

”黑黑的外面?“

to sleep, warm and safe in Big Bear's arms.

fast asleep, and he settled down with Little Bear* Z8 f6 |5 `# p+ _
on one arm and the Bear Book on the other, cosy
' O- e$ w9 d1 Q  b9 z8 Lin the Bear Chair by the fire.
+ ?* D  r: y' ?- y小小熊没有吭声,他在大大熊温暖而安全的怀抱中睡着了。
& M/ N0 U0 X2 i, A! p大大熊抱着小小熊回到洞穴,
