"Why are you scared, Little Bear?" asked Big Bear.

“你睡不着吗,小小熊?”

“我害怕。”小小熊说。

and took out the tiniest lantern that was there.
# C* k; m8 D3 `5 j, NBig Bear lit the tiniest lantern, 9 V1 F) H7 ]  O1 u  `% I& W' K
and put it near to Little bears bed.+ E. a2 V; g& D, y
"There's a tiny light to stop you being scared,8 N# N) M. N. A$ n
Little Bear, "said Big Bear." V  I8 D( ]4 c& j$ x
"Thank you, Big Bear, "said Little Bear,
# h+ a$ k7 R+ _, @0 T' rcuddling up in the glow.
6 j* a' S" k6 f( p  }- f"Now go to sleep, Little Bear, "said Big Bear,
: ?8 D; M( G" o# w5 Zand he padded back to the bear Chair and settled
* q, E: h7 g3 J$ G3 Jdown to read the Bear Book, by the light of the fire.

"Why are you scared, Little Bear?"asked Big Bear.

"Only a tiny-weeny one, " said Little Bear. "
+ r' t( \  l' rAnd there's lots of dark!”
  r5 D  I4 s0 z5 L) eBig Bear looked, and he saw that Little Bear was quite! m3 v* m( ]2 h, Y* T4 d7 [. ]
right, there was still lots of dark.
; X4 h% g* I, d% \4 kSo Big Bear went to the Lantern Cupboard
( g  o7 K- N( h" M( @0 wand took out a bigger lantern.
1 G; X5 D. z' f: W- |1 pBig bear lit the lantern, and put it beside the other one.' z: T, \4 g) s* K' D1 r9 ~) ^

+ z' I  j+ z$ m: O小小熊躺了一会儿,可它还是睡不着。0 o5 U6 A8 ]* H
“你睡不着吗,小小熊?”大大熊说。

于是它拿来了大一点的灯,放在小小熊的床边。

by the light of the fire.

"A tiny one and a bigger one!”

“但是我已经给你拿了两盏灯了,一个大的,一个小的。”

Big bear thought about it, * X6 d1 s: }: Q. b. l; D
and then he went to the Lantern Cupboard
7 N8 E' g5 V- f9 v0 e' Nand took out the Biggest Lantern of Them All,
0 Z+ @8 U6 d1 Wwith two handles and a bit of chain.
. u3 c; o& o) T9 QHe hooked the lantern up above Little Bears bed.
0 I" K; |; S- ^$ B& k"I've brought you the Biggest Lantern of Them all! "
' M, v# `. s- \he told Little bear.
) J+ a6 Z( [" t; i: [# B"That's to stop you being scared!"9 K* \+ i2 j* T( {) d
“Thank you, Big Bear,” said Little Bear,$ m1 K- F- T# G1 D
curling up in the glow and watching% v, j7 ?* H8 G
the shadows dance.+ O: a9 S- D$ W7 Q; K
“Now go to sleep, Little Bear, ”said Big Bear4 H% `) c' k. Q4 P
and he padded back to the Bear Chair and- e+ B4 R. H  J* F
settled down to read the Bear Book," ?/ B. z6 A* w/ E

大大熊想了想,然后他又拿了一个最大的灯。
* y8 o* I% {# _% ]' ~“我给你拿了最大的灯了,这下不用害怕了。”

“现在去睡觉吧。”大大熊回到位子上继续看书。

Big Bear saw that Little Bear was right.

But Little Bear didn't say anything, for he had gone

Big Bear carried Little Bear back into the bear Cave,5 `7 D) D8 l* W& ]; W
fast asleep, and he settled down with Little Bear$ p% p& z. ]# E" S; _% a6 B( B$ A
on one arm and the Bear Book on the other, cosy8 Z& G3 Q* Y& k  _& Q
in the Bear Chair by the fire.
% h6 r# S6 J2 y% y小小熊没有吭声,他在大大熊温暖而安全的怀抱中睡着了。/ J9 b% ~4 W" V& B) ]/ Z; e

回到椅子上继续看书,一边还抱着小小熊。
