One day, Wind and Sun
一天，风与太阳
were bragging to each other.
互相吹牛
“I am stronger than you,” Wind bragged(吹嘘）.
“我比你强壮，”风吹嘘道。
“When I blow（吹）, I can bend（弄弯曲） trees!
“当我吹（吹）时，我可以弯曲树木！”
I can turn umbrellas（雨伞） inside out!”
我可以把伞翻过来！“
“I am stronger than you,” bragged Sun.
“我比你强壮，”孙自夸道。
“When I shine, I make plants grow.
“当我发光时，我使植物生长。
I can melt（熔化） snow and ice!”
我能融化冰雪！“
“How can we tell who is stronger?” asked Sun.
“我们怎样才能知道谁更强壮？”孙问。
“I have a great idea,”said Wind.
“我有个好主意，”风说。
“Let’s have a contest（比赛）.”
我们来比赛吧。

“I’ll hide（躲藏） behind that cloud（云）.”
“我会躲在那朵云后面。”
Sun went behind a cloud to watch.
太阳躲在云后面观看。
Wind blew（blow~blew吹）. Wind blew harder.
刮风。风刮得更猛了。
Wind blew so hard that the man’s hat came right off.
风刮得很猛，那个人的帽子一下子掉了。
But his coat did not come off.
但是他的外套没有脱下来。
The man just grabbed（抓紧） his hat
那人刚抓起他的帽子。
and tied it on tight（系得更紧）.
并把它系紧。
He put on his gloves（围巾）,
他戴上手套，
and he traveled on.
他继续往前走。
Wind blew even harder.
风刮得更猛了。
He blew as hard as he could.
他拼命地吹。
The man pulled his coat tighter around him,
那人把外套拉紧了，
and he traveled on（继续走）.
他继续旅行。
Sun came out from behind the cloud.
太阳从云层后面出来。
“It’s my turn（轮到我） now,” he said.
“现在轮到我了，”他说。
“You will see how easy
“你会发现多么容易。
it is for me to make the man
是我造就了这个人
take off his coat.”
脱下他的外套。”
Sun looked down at the man
孙朝下看着那个人。
and began to shine.
开始发光。
“It is so warm,” said the man.
“天气真暖和，”那人说。
He took off his hat.
他脱下帽子。
Sun kept shining.
太阳一直照耀着。
Sun got very hot.
太阳变得很热。
The man got hotter and hotter.
这个人越来越热了。
“I feel really warm,” said the
“我感觉真暖和。”
man, and he took off his gloves.
伙计，他脱下手套
Sun got as hot as he could.
孙变得尽可能地热。
“It’s much too warm to wear this coat,”
"穿这件外套太暖和了。"
said the man, and he took off his coat.
那个人说，然后脱下外套。
“I win the contest!” said Sun to Wind.
“我赢得了比赛！太阳对风说。
“I made the man take off his coat,
“我让那个人脱下外套，
so I am stronger than you.”
所以我比你强。”
“Yes, you are,” agreed Wind.
“是的，你是，”风同意了。
And he turned into a little breeze（轻风）.
他变成了一阵微风。
