The holiday season is hot on our heels and with it comes a month-long travel marathon, visiting in-laws here and best friends there. If you aren't exactly thrilled about the experience, chances are, your host isn't either, and your etiquette as a guest may be the reason why.
Here's how to nip those annoying house guest habits in the bud so you get invited back for holidays to come.
1. Showing up way too early or really late.

2. Arriving empty handed.

3. You make yourself at home too easily.

News flash: When people say "make yourself at home," they're just being polite. So don't leave your luggage, shoes, and other belongings strewn across the place. It's just plain rude.
4. Not offering to help around the house.

Are there groceries that need to be put away? Dishes to be done? Volunteer your services. Your host will most likely say no, but simply offering goes a long way.
5. Eating all the food in the house...

And not chipping in a few bucks to pay for your damage. You're already getting a free place to crash, don't get greedy.
6. Not waking up and going to sleep at the same time as your host.

Even if it's not your normal routine, go with it, and help your hosts to get the good night's sleep they deserve.
7. Forgetting to say thank you when you leave.

Seriously? Have you no manners? It's two simple words, say it and mean it.
